PREPARING FOR RAMADAN 2025

Increase in giving to others

This is the best way to prepare and increase in getting rewards. Give in charity to people. You can give money, or there are other ways to give, such as, you can donate Quran to those who need it. This is perfect for helping others read the Quran in Ramadan.

Eating less and keeping a healthy diet

Start eating less or maintaining a healthy diet for Ramadan. This allows us to prepare our body for fasting. Avoid eating junk food and more homemade meals.

Make the intention for the upcoming month and duas

Increase the remembrance of Allah in these months and make the intention to reach the month of Ramadan. Make dua for yourself, your family, friends and fellow Muslims that may Allah allow us to fast in the month of Ramadan.

Recite and reflect on the holy Quran

Start reciting the holy Quran before the month. Reflect on the words of Allah and memorise surahs – you can always start with the short ones and make your way up. This way, you can continue to recite the Quran in the month of Ramadan and get more rewards.

Complete your missed fasts or fast voluntarily

Take this time to make up for missed fasts or start fasting as a practice and routine for Ramadan. This teaches us self-control and helps us to maintain a healthy routine.

Making use of a Ramadan planner

You can start setting your goals, in terms of your diet, recitation of Quran, charity and so on for the month. This way you will be prepared for Ramadan and feel motivated to do more acts of worship in the holy month.

Avoid or limit the intake of excessive caffeine

Lastly, for those who regularly drink tea or coffee, it is best to start avoiding or limiting the intake of these drinks as during fasting, not having caffeine can have mild to severe withdrawal symptoms such as headache and poor concentration or motivation for some individuals. Hence, it is best to start now so that you do not have to avoid at once during the month.
